Okay, so I was online trying to find a downloadable version of Green Day’s performance the other night on *gasp* American Idol (ugh). I’m always looking for Green Day video because I always want to see Green Day play anything anytime anywhere,.
I WAS a bit appalled that they went on this manufactured music show – wait, I meant popularity contest – that results most of the time in too many Whitney/Mariah/Christina wannabees. HOWEVER, I realize they’re trying to get as much publicity as possible for this new Lennon cover album because it’s for CHARITY – to save Darfur. So they’re forgiven.
Anyway, when I googled Video Green Day American Idol, this mashup came up. I will preface what I’m about to say with the fact that Kelly Clarkson is the only AI whose music I can tolerate at all.
But this mashup actually makes me like her song better than I did before.
Don’t expect the usual from this clip from los ninos de beastie! Junk a nice funky vibe…

I swear on my life, SNL Weekend Update could have gotten this REALLY bit from listening to me and my team in the office about every other day. We use the REALLY conversation so much it’s scary, day after day, discussing vendors and other idiots in the workplace because most of the time, we can’t believe the level of DUH we’re dealing with.
This whole bit just cracks me up.
Okay, I like calamari, battered and fried…but this is taking fresh fish a bit too far for me….
Ahhh….Saturday mornings in the 70s…..fewer toy commercials, more nutritional and educational stuff…good memories….

So, a lot of media people and ‘experts’ this week have had a lot to say about the things that should have been done or could have been done to prevent the scale of the tragedy at VaTech. Even when the actual VaTech students were standing behing their president, the media people kept hammering away at what the university did and/or didn’t do ‘appropriately.’
So, yes, that was annoying to watch and listen to. Yes, it was frustrating and at times a bit maddening and I wanted to shout at them to shut up.
However, that was not nearly so bad as this jackass and this jackass, who both took it upon themselves to blame the actual victims in the classrooms for not trying “to rush this guy.” They actually had the unmitigated gall to say they would have acted differently after making giant leaping assumptions about what went on in those rooms. And apparently, these two were not the only ones. We can always count on some jerk from FoxNews to say something ridiculous and appalling as well.
How dare they. Perhaps someday they’ll be able to show us all what they would do in the situation, since they think they know better how to react to someone with a semi-automatic pointed in their faces.
This guy knows what it was like and experienced a real reaction.
